The biggest pest threat in Woy Woy. The adjacent bushland provides enormous termite colonies with direct access to residential properties. Warm, humid conditions on the Central Coast accelerate termite activity year-round. Both older timber homes and new builds are at serious risk. Cockroaches thrive in Woy Woy's humid coastal climate. They're commonly found in kitchens, bathrooms, and roof voids, spreading bacteria and contaminating food surfaces. German and Australian cockroach species are the most frequently treated in the area.

Rats and mice are a persistent problem in Woy Woy, particularly during cooler months when they seek shelter indoors. They chew through wiring, contaminate food supplies, and spread disease. Proximity to waterways and bushland makes rodent pressure higher than in many Sydney suburbs.

Several venomous spider species are active in Woy Woy, including redback spiders and funnel-webs. Bushland proximity means spider populations are dense. Redbacks are particularly common in gardens, under eaves, and in outdoor furniture during warmer months.
